Transliteration and Translanguague

In essence, my work has been primarily with fully or semibilingual english language learners who learn through musicality, poetry, and hip hop, and some of them only speak english, hence the focus on transliteration:  "Transliteration is the process of converting text from one writing system to another, focusing on representing the sounds of the original text using characters from a different alphabet, while translanguaging refers to the practice of using multiple languages fluidly within a single communicative act, drawing on different linguistic resources to express meaning effectively; essentially, transliteration deals with just the written characters, whereas translanguaging involves actively using multiple languages in a dynamic way to communicate.  Key differences:  Focus on meaning vs. pronunciation: Transliteration prioritizes preserving the pronunciation of a word by converting its characters to a different script, not necessarily conveying the exact meaning, wh...
